Devon's most southerly town, is the picturesque holiday haven of Salcombe.

Salcombe provides a whole array of things to do and see. The town of Salcombe, with its narrow streets, shops and galleries, is full of character and is situated on the waterfront near to the mouth of the Estuary.

Coastal paths offer the walker the most spectacular views; local beaches have clean golden sands. The water is unusually clear, attracting divers who explore not only the sea but also over 30 shipwrecks in the area. Dolphins can be seen swimming in the cove from time to time.

Some of the most beautiful coastal walks in England can be taken from Salcombe without having to use the car, with many breathtaking views and idealic beauty spots to choice from.

Whilst a lively town bustling with life in the summer months, Salcombe enjoys a certain peace out of season with most shops remaining open and the climate remaining mild.

The beaches have a Seaside Award for water quality and cleanliness. They are sandy and safe. There are rock pools to enjoy and crabs to catch and for the more adventurous, sailing, windsurfing and diving.
